Formerly, to arrange diagrams, histograms, simple figures according to mathematical formulas, ready for use images ActiveX and Java applets were employed in browser. These images take too much room, besides many users sometimes refuse to apply them for safety reasons. All these methods have some advantages and faults as well what determine their application in Internet. Probably the way of handling graphics images offered here also might be useful.
Which advantage has this method?

  1. Higher speed of loading pages because a part of graphics will be loaded as mathematical description and browser will draw it on screen leaving communication channel free.
  2. Pages background may be arranged without multiplication of small file. Using this way you can just spread stars over screen, to make them flicker, to draw logos, emblems, geometrical shapes and curves.
  3. Browser may be provided with full description of image (each px) and display it using script. This image also can be visible to users with inactive image loading.
  4. Animation produced so when image appearing is slow takes much less room than GIF format. 1px is displayed on screen and surface changing its color is small. Therefore image blinking is invisible. This animation also can be seen to users with inactive image loading.

This is a serious reason to employ this new advantage on your pages.

Unfortunately this method also has some faults.

  1. High speed of displaying may be realized only for images having mathematic description.
  2. Big number of pixels prolongs considerably the time necessary to display.
  3. Quickness depends very much on processor capacity.
  4. When calculations time is too long, system offer to stop the program.

The best solution in this case if browsers maintained display of simplest graphic (pixels and lines) that probably a question of future.

What the new method does mean? 

Most important thing is to display unitary size pixel of color and in position needed. To get this, when a page is loaded, we call subprogram which insert special code HTML which determine color, size and position of the dot. Important, that minimal size may be provided only by (img, td, applet, obgect for Internet Explorer) all others have height more than 1 px. Basic unit is tag img. If dot size is more than certain figure and src is not set, browser will draw a badge of image. We did not mean it. Now we have to insert transparent image. Only tag img with transparent image is fit. To safe memory and time we do not need src for small dots.     To set color we use parameter background style.

For Internet Explorer table are better to compare with layers, for their time of display 30% faster. Each cell should contain an image of unitary size otherwise it's formatted with bigger height. 

For Netscape only tag layer will fit, because after displaying its color may change. Parameter bgColor sets colors.


To obtain mathematical description of image, position calculation and display of pixels are to be done. 

To obtain complex image, position and color of each pixel are registered in program listing.

To obtain animation image sequence of pixels display is registered and pixels come on screen in short intervals.

Colors of pixels on display also may be changed.
To reduce file size, use ciphering.
